In the city of Santo Domingo you can find 3 golf courses, Santo Domingo Country Club, Las Lagunas Country Club and Isabel Villas Country Club. SANTO DOMINGO - Country Club is an enchanting course, for club members only. Non-members can play if invited by a member, not on Wednesdays and Sundays. This course lies near to the city and has extraordinarily well kept greens. Also tennis and swimming pool. The Las Lagunas Country Club, a 15-minute drive outside the city. The course was originally designed by Peter Dye, but somewhat modified during its construction. The Las Lagunas course is widely spread over hilly terrain and offers scenic views, with exhuberant vegetation reflected in small lakes throughout. Lovely club house with pool and restaurant facilities and rarely crowded. This course is located in a real estate development. The course opened in 1989 and is spread over hilly terrain offering scenic views of lakes and exuberant vegetation. Located in the outsides of Santo Domingo, las Lagunas is considered the national course, due to its administration by the Dominican Golf Federation. This course is a real challenge due to its length. The layout is also very different from most of the course in the Island which are resort type, ocean courses. Las Lagunas is built on a wet area making everything seem extremely green. If in Santo Domingo, this would be a highly recommended course before tackling any of the more famous courses ISABEL VILLAS - Country Club is situated on the Isabel river and was opened in 1997. Its unique floodlighting (7-11 p.m.) makes playing possible in the evening. Drive along "Republica de Argentina", Central A. Hondo, turn right into Av. Belize, drive on in direction of Isabel Villas. This 9 hole par 3 course opened in 1997 and it has lights for night play as well.
